FORD END CLOSURE

FORD END TEMPORARY CLOSURE

As you are probably aware from previous communications, we are developing our water at Ford End and as a result the water is temporarily closed until further notice. The Inland Drainage Board are on site from tomorrow 9th February to de-silt the water, cut back overhanging branches and thin out trees to reduce the amount of leaf fall.

Following this the club will reseed the banks to repair damage caused by the machinery. We will also be installing 7 platforms, including a disabled platform, on the bank adjacent to where we park.

Once the water has settled down and some natural food and habitat has been reestablished, we plan to introduce more silvers, some tench and crucian carp to the existing fish stock.  We will also be planting some contained patches of lillies to help with predation from cormorants.

We will advise as soon as we are able to reopen the water and thank you for your understanding.
