FORD END – UPDATE AND REOPENING DATE

Firstly, now that the silt that was spread along some of the bank has dried out and the water has had time to rest and regenerate,  we plan to reopen Ford End on 16th June. During the closure we have installed 7 platforms including a disabled platform along the narrow arm of the water. Our next stage of the development is to install containerised patches of lilies to assist with shelter from predation and provide food source and create water features.

This autumn we will be introducing 100 tench and 500 crucian carp. We may add more tench in future years when we get a feeling for what has been caught and how fish are developing. We will also ask the EA to donate a few roach, chub and bream to supplement the existing stocks.
